As a follow up to the film about Fort Ringold and the Rio Grande City area, 23 members went on a wonderful field trip on the Bessie III Trolley Tour of Rio Grande City, Fort Ringold, and points beyond. Some enjoyed the outing so much they continued on to the Roma Bluffs and Salineno Wildlife Refuge. During the trip they saw petrified palm tree wood, fossilized oysters, and discussed the geographical & geological significance of the placement of Fort Ringold. Folks had a wonderful time. Elizabeth uploaded over 65 observations to iNaturalist from the day's outing and encouraged others to practice Citizen Science.
